I had a few minutes of spare time and decided to browse around a bit on Google Earth.
After a while I discovered a miles long traffic jam on a highway in Flanders and Brussels, apparently caused by a car accident.
Check it out over at Google Maps or enter 50°49'28.75" N 4°16'47.24" E in Google Earth to get a better view.

in all seriousness, I've been to the USA, Mexico and Cuba..
WHen I used to think belgians were morons at the wheel, now i figured out we are above the world average drivers :)
USA : "I own the left lane, because I'm turning left in 10 miles"
Mexico : "Let's speed on this 30 mph road for a while in our 5 seats car filled with 18 persons aboard"
Cuba : "The car didn't manage to survive this 2 miles trip, I'm sorry but I have to stop in the middle of the road without notice. Can you help fixing it ?"
These are real situations I've seen :)

Currently living in belgium, I just have to say: If Google managed to image Belgium without including a car accident they would have to image at night. Even then it would be hard :-)

I live in Belgium (Ekeren - Antwerp) and work in Brussels.
This is only 60 kilometers (about 39 miles).
Often I drive more then 2 hours for this distance (55 kilometers are highway).
Always because of accidents (and most of the time trucks are involved).
Last december a truck drove into my car with a long traffic jam as a result of it.

Hai it's natural on highways since driving 55km on highway for 2 hours is really a tension drive which should take only one hour. The accidents are 96% by human error only. so if every driver had a ROAD SENSE while driving then no road accidents and no traffic jams. Any way good luck for no humna damage and wish u not have the same in future.

just wrote off my transit van in belguim, i have never experienced such bad driving in my life, im still recovering from my injuries. drove through france without any problems as soon as i was in belguim, my god i couldnt believe the change.
