NVIDIA Detonator 52.10 Shader performance

Posted on Sunday, October 05 2003 @ 23:06:18 CEST by

The German 3D Center has tested the beta Detonator 52.10 drivers from NVIDIA. They have done a few tests with Shadermark 2.0, this program has cheat detection built in, and you can easely reprogram the shaders of the benchmarks with this program so cheating in Shadermark 2.0 is according to the makers impossible.

Their test system was a MSI 845PE Max motherboard with 512MB DDR400 memory, a Pentium 4 2.53 GHz processor and a MSI GeForceFX 5900 with 128 MB. The test were done on Windows XP with SP1 and DirectX 9.0b with a resolution of 1024*786.
The results you see below have been made with the new ShaderMark 2.0, there's no way this software could have been cheated on as shadermark even included some detection software for that. And whatever NVIDIA did with the new 52.xx series seems to be working, look at the differences of PixelShader perfoemance between the current official set of detonator drivers and the new 52.10 drivers.

As you can see the Det52.10 drivers do perform a lot better than the Det45.23 ones.
They also did a few gaming benchmarks, if you want to read the full article click here. A crappy translation to English can be found here
