    Abit KV8-MAX3 Specifications unveiled

Posted on Saturday, October 11 2003 @ 14:32:09 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Abit has unveiled the specifications of his KV8-MAX3 motherboard. This Athlon64 motherboard has the same kind of MOSFET cooling like his Canterwood IC7-MAX3 brother.

The KV8-MAX is based on the VIA K8T800/VT8237 chipset and support the AMD socket 754 Athlon 64 processors. It supports either 3 DIMM DDR 333 or 2 DIMM DDR 400 of maximum 2GB in total. It has Serial ATA, 4 x SATA 150 RAID 0/1/0+1, 2 IDE controllers, On board 10/100/1000 Mb PCI Ethernet Controller , IEEE 1394a , AC97 integrated sound, 6 USB ports, and ofcourse AGP 8x. This is just a short summary of the specifications, more can be found here.

(But mind this ; Their seem to be a few errors in the specification page, Abit writes "Supports 4 DIMM Dual Channel DDR 400 memory (Max. 4GB)" for example, but you only see 3 DIMM sockets on the motherboard..)
    >br> It also includes the new ABIT μGuru technology :
μGuru combines the ABIT Engineered features ABIT EQ, ABIT FanEQ, ABIT OC Guru, ABIT FlashMenu, ABIT AudioEQ and ABIT BlackBox into a user-friendly interface providing users the perfect environment with which to maximize performance and stability. Operating as an independent micro-processor, μGuru effectively frees your CPU resources from performing these functions, further increasing system performance.
