    NVIDIA GeForce 5600 XT?

Posted on Tuesday, October 14 2003 @ 18:10:41 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

It appears that NVIDIA is going to launch XT cards just like ATi did some time ago. Unlike ATi these 'XT cards' from NVIDIA are not the performance crowns, but rather a budget solution of the normal ones. GZeasy has spotted the GeForce FX 5600XT in China. So problably we can expect a GeForce FX 5200 XT, 5600XT and 5900XT soon.
Keywords here are that it's based on the FX5600 architecture yet much cheaper but also slower, this might be the new low-end product. The core clock should be very low at 235MHz and it's memory at 400 MHz. There is 128 MB memory onboard and furthermore has the usual gadgets. A really weird release as this is not a product I expected and if correct we can see three new products from the NVIDIA line-up pretty soon.
