NVIDIA officialy released the GeForce FX 5950 Ultra and FX 5700

Posted on Thursday, October 23 2003 @ 17:28:50 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

NVIDIA officially launched the GeForce FX 5950 Ultra and GeForce FX 5700 Ultra today, together with the launch of the ForceWare 52.16 drivers.
The new GeForce FX 5950 Ultra is the fastest GPU in the Company’s history. Manufactured using 0.13 micron process technology at TSMC, this new GPU combines extremely fast clock rates with a 256-bit memory bus. Designed to deliver cinematic-quality graphics and studio-quality color, the GeForce FX GPUs are the only full 128-bit precision computation GPUs in the industry. In addition, the GeForce FX 5950 and 5700 GPUs feature the NVIDIA CineFX™ 2.0 engine with NVIDIA UltraShadow™ technology, designed to improve the shader power that enables more complex effects, and to accelerate the rendering of lighting and shadows.

The NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 Ultra GPU is the first produced in 0.13 micron at the IBM foundry in East Fishkill, NY. The GeForce FX 5700 series delivers an enthusiast feature set at a mainstream price to enable next-generation gaming for the masses. With the GeForce FX 5700 gamers can enjoy unbeatable DirectX 9.0 performance at a mainstream price.

NVIDIA also tells us that their cards are immediately available beginning October 26th.
Add-in cards based on the GeForce FX family of GPUs are available from the world’s leading add-in card manufacturers, including: AOpen, Ask, ASUS Computer International, BFG Technologies, Inc., Creative Labs, eVGA.com Corporation, Gainward Co., Ltd., Gigabyte Technology, Co., Ltd., Leadtek Research, Inc., MSI, Pine XFX, and PNY Technologies, Inc.
