Chaintech Apogee 1066MHz DDR3 notebook modules released

Posted on Friday, April 04 2008 @ 07:25:58 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Walton Chaintech has released DDR3 1066 SO-DIMM modules for the notebook market. These memory modules can be used on the Intel Montevina Centrino 2 platform which will be released in June.
APOGEE DDR3 1066 SO-DIMM memory module is designed with 8-bit Pre-fetch, which meets the DDR3 standard of JEDEC and packaged by CSP technology (Chip Scale Package; or FBGA) for providing the best performance. It is a multifold improvement over the DDR2 4-bit architecture. The working voltage is 1.5V only, compared with 1.8V of DDR2; it has approximately 17% less power consumption. The supply voltage reduction is important prerequisite to meet future notebook requirements for low power consumption and heat generation due to the increase in bandwidth.

Not only speed but also stability considering, APOGEE DDR3 1066 SO-DIMM features new functions, such as CWD, power-saving reset, ZQ calibration, SRT and RASR. All these new technologies enable the DDR3 memory to more effectively read/write data and save more energy. Furthermore, APOGEE DDR3 1066 SO-DIMM adopts top quality chips to ensure the high performance in normal usage and overclocking.
