S3 Graphics recently released its new Chrome 430 GT GPU and German PC site PC Games Hardware is one of the first to publish some benchmarks. The site compared the graphics card against some low-end cards from ATI's Radeon and NVIDIA's GeForce lineup.

This card is aimed towards HTPC systems and the site performed a couple of gaming tests to see how it lines up against the GeForce 8400 GS, GeForce 8500 GT, Radeon HD 3450 and Radeon HD 2400 Pro. In Crysis with minimal detail the Chrome 430 GT was faster than the competition but in the other tests the card wasn't able to outperform its rivals. The reviewer also noticed some image quality issues in some games but that could be fixed with a driver update

The Chrome 430 GT is currently the best graphics card from S3 Graphics and while the performance doesn't really impress it offers quite a lot of value considering it's priced around 30EUR.

The power consumption of the card is similar to the GeForce 8500 GT and Radeon HD 3450 and according to the site S3 is going to release a Chrome 440 GTX, that card will feature a 128-bit memory interface and 512MB GDDR3 memory.
