Howto enable Shader Model 3 (SM3) support in ForceWare 61.xx drivers

Posted on Tuesday, July 20 2004 @ 13:58:45 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Someone on a German forum found a way to enable SM3 support with ForceWare 61.xx drivers (you need at least 61.45 according to the forum) by adding the following lines to your nv4_disp.inf :
    [nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings]
    HKR,, D3D_35173345, %REG_DWORD%, 0x61243847

    [nv_ClearRegistrySwitches]
    HKR,, D3D_35173345
After that you need to reinstall the drivers.
Note: You need a NVIDIA NV40 card + DirectX 9.0c
