Computer virus that leaks exam papers

Posted on Wednesday, August 25 2004 @ 16:59:35 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

A Chinese insitute discovered a PC virus that steals files related to exam papers. According to the People's Daily this virus is named "Exam theft", it searches trough Microsoft Word and Excel files for exam-related words.
It then scoops up the files and sends them to a web site, the paper claimed. A Chinese security firm, Jiangmin, said it hadn't found a direct link between the virus and a leak of exam papers a couple of months back.

But exam papers and results were made available well before the students had to sit down and plough through the tests. And several websites were offering printed versions of exam papers for a lot of money.
