VIA embedded processor roadmap unveiled

PC Watch went to Embedded Technology 2008 and spotted a roadmap of VIA's plans for the embedded processor market.

The slide unveils new 65nm VIA Nano E-series processors will be released in June 2009, these chips offer a FSB of up to 1333MHz, 32-bit/64-bit, parallel issue instructions, 128KB / 1MB cache, advanced FPU, virtualization and backward compatibility with NanoBGA2 footprint.

The VIA Dual Core Nano processor is expected to enter mass production in June 2010, this chip will use a smaller process technology and will feature better performance, while remaining pin-compatible with the previous generation.
