Posted on Wednesday, January 21 2009 @ 19:31:32 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

NVIDIA has introduced the Quadro NVS 420, this new workstation card features two GPUs and can drive up to four 30" displays at 2560 x 1600 pixels. The card was designed for small form factor (SFF) systems, it has a total of 16 CUDA parallel processor cores (a fancy word for shader processors), 512MB of memory (256MB per GPU), 128-bit memory bus (64-bit per GPU) and maximum memory bandwidth of 11.2GB/s per GPU.

The card has four dual-link DVI ports and four DisplayPort connectors. The Quadro NVS 420 has a maximum power consumption of 40W and will be available next month for $499.
“The convenience of small form factor computers can now finally be matched with remarkable business graphics and digital display capabilities,” says Jeff Brown, general manager, Professional Solutions, NVIDIA. “The Quadro NVS 420 transforms these small form factor machines into business graphics powerhouses.”
