Lauren then heads to a PC shop, where she acts amazed at the amount of notebooks that suit her budget. She compares several models, and picks a 17" HP notebook that costs $300 less than what she was willing to spend. Given the current state of the economy, it's a pretty brilliant ad from Microsoft. Apple is going to have a hard time to beat this because Microsoft has a valid point here.

Microsoft has a new one minute long ad that stars Lauren, an American woman looking for a new laptop with a 17" screen for under $1,000. First she enters an Apple Store, where she finds out that for $1,000 they have only one computer available, and that's one with a 13" screen. Further hinting at the expensive price tag of Apple's computers, she adds that she would need to double her budget to get a model with a 17" display, and admits she's not "cool" (read: rich) enough to be a Mac person.
