    NVIDIA starts shipping NV44

Posted on Wednesday, December 08 2004 @ 17:49:04 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

NVIDIA is shipping new 6200 cards as we speak. Don’t get confused, because Nvidia already launched card named 6200. The older one is based on the faster and more expensive NV43-V core. Actually those chips could be defined as the slowest of the NV43 series that were good enough to make slower chips by crippling the pipelines.

As far as we know, it is a four pipeline part and will come with both 128 and 64 bit memory interface. I smell that this 64 could be called SE. More information at The Inquirer
