DigiTimes heard Samsung will provide 14.5" LED-backlit notebook panels to HP. Notebooks with these 14.5" displays are expected to be released in early 2010.
The panels will be produced at Samsung's 5G plant, which can cut 18 14.5-inch panels from a substrate, the sources noted, adding that other panel makers will wait for the end product to be released to determine whether they will also start producing 14.5-inch LED-backlit panels.

HP plans to launch the 14.5-inch LED-backlit notebook at the beginning of 2010, and the company aims to ship 40 million notebooks in 2010, the sources said.
