Buffalo DriveStation USB 3.0 version hits 125MB/s

Last week Freecom introduced the first USB 3.0 portable HDD, and this week Buffalo introduces the DriveStation HD-HXU3 with USB 3.0 support. These external hard drives will be available in capacities of 1TB, 1.5TB, and 2TB with maximum transfer speeds of 125MB/s. The Buffalo DriveStation HD-HXU3 is expected to become available in the fourth quarter of the year.
"The new DriveStation HD-HXU3 combines both USB 3.0 performance, and the latest hard disk technology, tied in with Japanese based Buffalo's renowned high quality design to create a massive jump in performance, copying Gigabyte files in just seconds," said Tim Scale, EMEA Product Marketing Director, Buffalo Technology.
