Barnes & Noble Nook eReader debuts for $259

Barnes & Noble officially announced its eReader today, this $259 device is named Nook and features a 16-bit gray scale e-Ink display from Vizplex and a smaller 3.5" color touchscreen. It has 2GB internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, MP3 player functionality, built-in mono speaker, a 3.5mm headphone jacket, microUSB port, 802.11b/g WiFi, and AT&T 3G. The battery life is said to be up to ten days if you disable the wireless. The company starts taking preorders today, with initial shipments expected by the end of November.
