NVIDIA GeForce GT240 expected on November 17th

Posted on Friday, October 30 2009 @ 18:43:23 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

FUD Zilla heard NVIDIA is planning to release the GeForce GT240 graphics card on November 17th. This is a new mainstream card with DX10.1 support, it should fall in the GeForce 9600 GSO/GT price range.
The card is targeting mainstream market and it supports DirectX 10.1, not DirectX 11 and it should do well in this market segment. The plan is to replace aging Geforce 9600GSO / GT cards with this new one.

The card has 96 cores and naturally supports PhysX. GDDR3 version will work at 900MHz and this implicates that there might be a version that supports some other memory interface, probable GDDR5.
