NVIDIA GeForce GTX 360 and 380 benchmarks leaked?

Posted on Monday, December 14 2009 @ 18:34:15 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

UPDATE: According to a report by Nordic Hardware, these benchmark results are a complete fabrication based on old NVIDIA marketing slides.

An anonymous source provided Guru3D with three benchmark slides that compare the performance of NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce GTX 380 and GeForce GTX 360 to the previous generation and the ATI Radeon HD 5970 and Radeon HD 5870 graphics cards.

The results look extremely good, but take it with a grain of salt as there's a high probability that the slides are fake.
The slides supposedly reveal internal NVIDIA benchmarks of Far Cry 2, Resident Evil 5 and STALKER Clear Sky. Now this remains speculation, but if the numbers where to be right, then the future is looking bright and sunny for NVIDIA -- well if they get their pricing and TDP right that is. In all fairness -- this is roughly what everybody expects from NVIDIA 3D performance wise -- though personally I'd doubt that a single GPU GTX 380 could overtake a dual-GPU Radeon HD 5970.
