Intel 8-core Nehalem-EX to ship this month

Posted on Monday, March 08 2010 @ 11:31:31 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

TC Mag reports Intel will start shipping eight-core Nehalem-EX processors this month.
Intel's long-awaited 8-core Xeon processors are planned to finally make their debut this month and take on AMD's 12-core Opterons. Manufactured on 45nm technology, the octo-core server chips feature 16 threads, integrated DDR3 memory controllers, 4 QPI (Quick Path Interconnects) links, Turbo Boost support and 24MB of (shared) L3 cache.
