    Longhorn's top priority is security

Posted on Wednesday, April 27 2005 @ 14:46:58 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

One of Microsoft's top priorities during the development of Longhorn is security. Bill Gates said Microsoft aims to make Longhorn the highest-quality release they've ever done. Gates promised Longhorn will feature better performance reliability, but that it's possible that it will be delayed further.
Microsoft chairman Bill Gates demonstrated Longhorn's new graphics and other features, which include better ways to visualise data such as seeing through Windows that are stacked atop each other, more natural file organisation and faster searching.
Gates also added that they listen to feedback at every stage of the development, so it's possible that some of their milestones will change as they choose to put more time into other things were users ask for. Longhorn is currently planned for Dec 2006
