Search engine giant Google faced a one hour worldwide down time yesterday.

David Krane, Googles spokesman, told the press the search engine shut down from 6;45 to 7 p.m. eastern time. This is not correct, the problems lasted for almost an hour.

Krane further added that the downtime was not the result of a hacking or security issue, it was related to DNS problems.
