Search Engine for USB Flash Drives

Posted on Monday, May 23 2005 @ 12:25:09 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Everything USB just found out the first search engine specifically designed for USB flash drives. From Gaviri, the PocketSearch resides on a flash drive and indexes everything from MP3s to HTML to Word and PDFs. So, if I search for 'Team America' under Music section, the PocketSearch would return all the songs matching this phrase in ID3v1/v2 tag. The PocketSearch approach is fundamentally similar to Apple's Spotlight and Google's Desktop Search except these two aren't exactly for portability.
