No inspiration? HP copies Apple keyboard and trackpad

Posted on Monday, September 10 2012 @ 13:37:35 CEST by

HP just introduced a new Windows 8 All-in-One lineup, including the Spectre One series. A look at the peripherals that come with the Spectre One reveals that HP's designers must have been out of inspiration, as they've pretty much copied the design of the Apple keyboard and trackpad. And while the new HP keyboard looks pretty good on photo, it seems too small and uncomfortable to type on.
What's confusing is, surely HP has seen what Apple is selling. Right? Is this kind of imitation supposed to be flattering, or is it just outright awful? We're not impressed at all, but maybe HP will change their mind about what they're doing here before they release them and get slapped with a potential lawsuit.
