Gigabyte makes entry in NAS market with 4-bay model

Gigabyte introduces the GR-EZI04H, the company's first Home NAS solution. This four-bay device uses the Intel Atom D2500 1.86GHz processor, it has one SO-DIMM slot that supports up to 4GB DDR3 1066MHz memory and has four hot-swappable 3.5" bays, but they're limited to SATA 3Gbps. The interior also has a Mini-PCI Express slot, handy for a mSATA storage device, as well as two 60mm fans to provide cooling. The rear has two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, one VGA port, two Ethernet ports, a reset button, a Kensington lock and a DC-In for the 90W external power supply.

The NAS measures 220mm x 183.5mm x 146.5mm and the specification sheet mentions users can choose between Windows Home Server 2011 or an embedded Linux operating system. Pricing and availability is unknown.
