A new roadmap of Intel's plans for the PC client market reveals the first 10nm Cannonlake processors are scheduled for Q2 2016. While we can't verify the accuracy, this seems pretty early as previous rumors pointed to a 2017 launch.

Cannonlake will be the next tick for Intel, it will be a 10nm shrink of the Skylake architecture. According to the leaked slide, the first mobile processors based on Cannonlake-Y and Cannonlake-U may hit the market as early as Q2 2016, which means Skylake would have a shelf life of just half a year in those segments.

Cannonlake-based Core M processors are anticipated to follow in Q3 2016 according to the slide, but traditional socketed desktop versions aren't expected until 2017. The information suggests there will be a Skylake Refresh platform towards the end of Q2 2016 and the introduction of Skylake-E processors around the same timeframe.
