DDR4 pricing is dropping like a rock

While DDR4 memory is still a bit more expensive than DDR3, the trend is looking very promising. A quick check over at German price comparison website Geizhals reveals pricing of popular DDR4 memory modules has dropped as much as 55 percent over the last year.

Early adopters always pay dearly but by the time DDR4 goes mainstream later this year - with the introduction of Intel's Skylake platform - much of the price premium over DDR3 will have dissipated.
