Acer preparing gaming laptop push for 2016

DigiTimes heard rumors that Acer is preparing to enhance its gaming laptop product line in 2016. The PC maker reportedly sent out RFO (request for quotation) notes to the main Taiwanese original design manufacturers (ODMs). The site notes this includes plans for large-display laptops, like 18-inch models.
Acer has sent out RFO (request for quotation) for gaming notebooks to be launched in 2016, signaling that Acer will strengthen marketing of the product line by increasing shipment volumes and launching more models, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers.

The RFQ is expected to be sent to main Taiwan-based notebook ODMs, including Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics, Wistron and Pegatron, the sources said.
