    Enermax preparing 1000W PSU

Posted on Tuesday, August 23 2005 @ 02:19:53 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Enermax will launch a crazy PSU in October which has a total power output of 1kW, yes that's 1000W! This power supply is in the final stage of production and delivers 30A on the 3.3V line, 30A on the 5V line and a total of 66A on its four 12V lines. More info and pictures at Hexus

I think this is just uber overkill. Most computer system don't even consume 300W and generally the trend for the near future seems to be to make computer systems less power hungry. I don't think we'll need a 1kW PSU soon.
