    The cost of these screens will be massive compared to any current LCD or Plasma set. I would be surprised if anyone thought the improvement in image quality would justify the 2 - 3x price premium of an SED set over a nice HD Plasma for example.

    The pursuit of perfection in image quality is a good thing, but at some point when you are sitting around 2m or more from the display, that marginal increase in IQ is not worth the additional thousands of dollars it takes.

    That means SED will remain unviable as a mass-consumer product until 2009-10. And even then I'd say LCD will still be dominant at that point due to price drops.
