Re: Radeon HD 4870 X2 3DMark score leaked (Score: 0)

We could "smell" it was going to be faster than the 280. And we know it will be coming in a mobile version as well as mainstream versions.

So if the 280 isn't the "fastest", or won't be for all that long, and it's not the most energy efficient at 65nm, and it won't have a mobile version, again due to the heat and power at 65nm, what is the 280 really going to do?

I'm thinking it won't do much except feed reviews until it shrinks to 55nm and gets versions of itself into the mainstream and mobile markets.

AMD has messed up even a good thing before, so we'll see. But it seems that while Nvidia has been looking at Intel and scrapping for a fight, ATI/AMD has been waiting for Nvidia to turn around so they can give them a black eye :)
