    Abit AN8 SLI Review

Posted on Tuesday, December 06 2005 @ 22:31:37 CET by LSDsmurf

Abit has done a pretty good job with their AN8 SLI. Offering an impressive overclocker’s friendly µGuru BIOS, the AN8 SLI boast up to 3.4VDIMM for power hungry BH5 or UTT memory chips. The package is also neat and comes with everything you need to get started. The AN8 SLI also features AudioMAX 7.1 soundcard which gives the AN8 SLI a unique look yet improving audio quality. The motherboard also comes with onboard LEDs that light up the MOSFET and AudioMAX area thus making this motherboard standout from the crowd, even without additional case lighting. Utilizing a unique and effective Q-OTES cooling system, the nForce 4 SLI chipset is kept cool even under heavy overclocking. The AN8 SLI served us well for the past month and we ran the system at 290MHz HTT for at least 3 weeks without any crashes or reboots. We also had no cold boot issues with this motherboard and the board boots up perfectly fine.
