LG Super Multi DVD Writer GSA-4082B Review

Posted on Tuesday, June 08 2004 @ 21:55:54 CEST by LSDsmurf

The drive is rated at 32X for CD and 12X for DVD - those are not overstatements, except that 12X DVD-ROM read is only achievable with single-layer, non-recordable discs - like many other drives. Dual layer discs and recordable discs are handled at 8X. Overall, we don't have much complaint about the 4082B reading performance; there is also no noticeable lag during layer transition while watching a dual-layer DVD-Video, probably due to the drive 2MB buffer and Windows XP's disc access cache."
