Saitek P3000 Wireless USB gamepad Review

Saitek P3000 Wireless USB gamepad Review
This gamepad is moderately heavy, heavier then say my cheapo PS2 controllers, but not as heavy as my old sidewinder, the controller features 900MHz wireless operation and also comes with 2 Ni-MH batteries. The wireless operation is not that great, In terms of range nothing more then say 15-20ft is doable, and one must be careful to avoid obstructions such as monitors and other electronics. The batteries last anywhere between 8-10 hours and there is always one in the base if you need to change batteries. The unit features a nice little battery, channel, analog/digital LCD display which is mildly useful. These days alot of wireless controllers that use AA's have the added versatility of having a universal design, and you can always get rechargable Ni-MH AA's. Add in the fact that nearly everything these day's uses AA's it has become apparent that a Ni-MH/AA compatible setup is better then opting for a proprietary battery.
