    FutureMark 3DMark05 Glance Review

Posted on Thursday, September 30 2004 @ 19:28:30 CEST by LSDsmurf

3DMark 04 hit the shelves in 2003, and was doing quite well with companies who depend greatly on well design software tools for benchmarking applications and hardware. But that event was shortly lived when word broke out about 3DMark 04 and NVIDIA sleeping in the same bed came loose on the internet. Basically, many sites accused 3DMark 04 makers of allowing companies like NVIDIA to enhance its video card drivers to score higher in its benchmarking software.

At this point we're only going to hope in our minds the possibilities of 3DMark 05 taking a better turn for the best for those who need a better benchmarking tool. Granted, however, there is no other better benchmarking tool than the real thing, such as popular games and applications. Here at ipKonfig.com, we take benchmarking software scores with a grain-of-salt and only use as quick comparison between hardware-to-hardware for our readers. We also ask that our readers take pre-built benchmarking software scores with a grain-of-salt, too.
