EVGA X58 3X SLI Classified Motherboard Review

Posted on Saturday, July 04 2009 @ 12:36:11 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Performance, Features, Stability, and Overclocking are the four criteria by which I base my opinion of a motherboard. From the performance point of view, the X58 3X SLI Classified takes it to a new level, besting the competition in a few of the benchmarks, virtually tying in some of the other benchmarks and losing by a small margin in the other benchmarks. From a Features POV, the EVGA X58 3X SLI Classified motherboard has features like a NF200 bridge chip to enable true 3-way SLI, Crossfire support for up to four video cards, and a good design that works. Stability was excellent throughout the testing regimen and overclocking of 22% is a good sign from a motherboard especially since it was stable at that higher clock speed. Overall EVGA gets a Gamepyre Silver award as it fits the bill for a X58 motherboard in spades.
