    ATI X850 XT-Platinum Review

Posted on Wednesday, December 01 2004 @ 22:50:17 CET by LSDsmurf

The 3D graphics card industry has almost always been very competitive with two companies usually trying to battle it out for the top spot. For the last couple of years, the pendulum keeps swinging between ATI and nVidia and with the latter recently announcing SLI support that almost doubles your performance in games, we were sure to hear something sooner than later from ATI.

Today, ATI is unveiling their X850 and X800 XL GPUs. The X850 XT Platinum (R480) will replace the X800 XT-PE as ATI’s highest-end product for the time being while the X800XL (R430) is their mainstream solution offering top-notch ATI class image quality with playable frame rates at decent resolutions on today’s demanding games.
