InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 HDTV-ready LCD home theater front projector Review

Posted on Friday, December 31 2004 @ 02:26:20 CET by LSDsmurf

With so much great football action ahead in the coming weeks, plus the Star Wars trilogy now finally available on DVD, this is the perfect time to experience a High-Definition projector like the ScreenPlay 5000. Because as good as HDTV programs and DVD movies look on a plasma or big-screen TV, they look spectacular on a 90" or larger screen. When the image is as big and powerful as the sound, that's when home theater magic happens! This is a breakthrough price for a front projector with HDTV resolution. But what makes the ScreenPlay 5000 irresistible is that it offers the quality and engineering expertise that InFocus is known for. The projector uses three high-res image panels, one each for red, green, and blue. Colors are accurate, stable, and smooth. Each panel's pixel count is 1280 x 720 (720p) -- that's the same format used by ABC, ESPN, and Fox for their HDTV broadcasts. An excellent built-in scaler converts all incoming signals to the projector's 720p native resolution so that even less-than-pristine cable signals are enjoyable.
