BitFenix Colossus review

The rear of the case features eight tool-free PCI slots and a honeycomb fan grill for a 140mm fan. Perhaps it's due to the airflow design, but I'm a bit disappointed that BitFenix doesn't include this fan with the case because that's the least I'd expect from a case as expensive as this one. Additionally, there are no holes for 120mm fans so you may run into some problems if you want to mount a 120mm All-in-One liquid cooling solution like the Corsair H70 or CoolIT ECO ALC. The power supply is mounted in the bottom of the case, and is protected by a dust filter.

Here's a closeup of the tool-free PCI mounting solution, it works quite well but if you don't trust it enough you can always use screws.

A 230mm exhaust fan is installed in the top panel of the Colossus, and there are also mounting holes for 120/140mm cooling.

There are five tool-free 5.25" drive bays, devices are secured by pushing the BitFenix logo. Additionally, you can also use screws if you don't want your 5.25" devices to move even a millimeter.

The case has a massive cut-out to make CPU cooler swapping easier and there's plenty of room for cable management.

The cable boom of the Colossus is quite large due to all the I/O ports, the LED light system and all the cables for the built-in PWM fan controller.

Removing the plastic front bezel reveals the steel chassis of the Colossus, this can be done without removing the door first.

The front bezel has a large removable dust filter.

And each of the 5.25" bay covers also has some dust filtering foam.

The plastic clips that secure the bay covers feel pretty flimsy, but BitFenix said these will be made thicker for the retail versions.
