UBS analysts Benjamin predicts the expansion of Google Payments will be a significant opportunity for the search engine giant:
On Friday, Google announced that its expanding Google Payments system will “provide a convenient and secure way to purchase Google Base items,” enabling, for the first time, customer-to-customer payments, and a challenge to PayPal, which is moving off of just eBay.
With respect to Google Video, the analyst predicted that video advertisements “will be an important part of the web’s growth.”
Video advertising “could add meaningful new revenue from partner sites, while increasing opportunities for advertisers and publishers to expand their relationship with Google,” he said.
