Toshiba Satellite P105 notebook series launched

Toshiba today introduced two Satellite P105 Series notebooks to meet the demands of today’s high-end multimedia users. Featuring a 17-inch diagonal widescreen display, the Satellite P105-S6014 and Satellite P105-S6004 feature Intel Core Duo and Core Solo processors respectively to boost multimedia performance.

Both notebooks include Microsoft Windows XP Media Center 2005 operating system to better manage digital music, photo and video files.Stylish and portable starting at just over seven pounds2, the Satellite P105 notebooks feature Toshiba’s TruBrite technology for a crisp, clear display and built-in harman/kardon stereo speakers for a rich audio experience.

Other features include

a DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive that reads and writes in up to 11 formats that can nearly double a recordable DVD’s storage capacity for photo, music and video files in either DVD+R or DVD-R double layer formats;

1024MB DDR2 533 MHz memory for better performance of productivity applications and music, picture and video multimedia files;

5-in-1 bridge media adapter for easy file sharing and downloads;

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 for high-impact graphics;

full-size keyboard with 10-key pad for easy numerical entry;

fingerprint reader for secure access management.

The inclusion of the latest in Intel Centrino Mobile Technology enhances overall system performance from graphics to wireless capabilities while reducing power consumption. The new platform includes updates to the Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connectivity.

The Satellite P105-S6004 features the Intel Core Solo Processor1 T1300 with a 100GB hard drive and a price of $1,399.99.

The notebooks include four USB 2.0, TV-Out (S-Video), iLINK IEEE 1394, RGB, RJ-11 modem (v.92), RJ-45 LAN, headphone and microphone ports. The chassis dimensions are 15.5 by 10.8 x 1.41 inches.
