BetaNews writes Samsung will launch its first Ultra-Mobile PC on May 1 at an event in San Francisco.

Microsoft says Origami UMPCs will cost between $500 and $1,000 but Samsung's first will retail for about $1,264 in South Korea.
Prices for the United States and Europe were not announced, nor were hardware specifications of the device. UMPCs largely resemble a small Tablet PC with 7-inch touch screen, and run a full version of Windows XP with special software.
