Intel Core 2 Extreme to launch at 2.93GHz

HardOCP heard from Intel that the Core 2 Extreme processor will be launched at 2.93GHz with a 3.2GHz version planned by the end of the year.

The quad core processor, code named Kentsfield, is slated for launch the first quarter of 07. It looks like things are shaping up, or should I say “speeding up”, nicely around camp Intel. We’ll have more information for you as we get it.
