ATI wants third PCI Express slot for physics

The Inquirer heard from three motherboard makers at Computex that ATI is asking motherboard making to equip their high-end boards with slots for three graphics cards.
All three slots may not need to have a full 16 lanes routed to them, 4 or 8 may work out fine, but the slot physically must be 16x.
The Inq doesn't seem to know why but I'm sure this is because ATI will soon announce its own physics solution.
