DigiTimes reports Taiwanese motherboard makers are gearing up to release server motherboards based on the new dual-core Woodcrest platform. They will be available between July and August, according to the firms.
ECS will soon kick off volume shipments of its Woodcrest board shipments, whereas Asustek is scheduled to roll out a 1U product in August, said the companies. Tyan said that its upcoming Woodcrest products will mainly target the workstation application. Gigabyte and MSI, respectively, are looking to launch more than five Woodcrest-based server boards and barebones during the latter half of this year, the companies indicated.
