Dell expanded its relationship with Asustek by adding a 14.1-inch widescreen notebook order to its existing orders for 2007:
Asustek will begin shipping the new Dell order in the second quarter of next year, with estimated shipments to total 1.4 million units, indicated the paper.

As reported on May 8, sources contacted by DigiTimes indicated that Asustek secured only one order for a 17-inch notebook model from Dell for 2007, with the model mainly being used to test new markets. DigiTimes Research estimated that Asustek may account for only less than 10% of Dell's total contract orders with Taiwan-based suppliers in 2007.
