HKEPC saw some new mobile roadmaps from Intel. The Santa Rosa platform will have some interesting new features:
On the other hand, Kedron is added into the specification of Santa Rosa, supporting 802.11n specification to allow the broadcast of High Definition Video in wireless network. With cost consideration, Santa Rosa also allows Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG.

Besides, WWAN is firstly included in the suggested (non-compulsory) specification of Santa Rosa. The included WWAN, codenamed Windigo, supports 2.5G (Edge) and 3G (CDMA-2000/WCDMA). 2.5G supports up to 348Kbps while 3G supports up to 2.4Mbps. As SIM provides Authentication, Authorization and Accounting service for WWAN, Intel plans to apply SIM Card into Windigo to improve the security in the wireless network. Intel suggests to adding SIM Socket in mobile devices to implement Windigo technology.
