Dell has confirmed that it will release AMD based notebooks later this year.
“This is not a big deal. In order to remain competitive, we have to make sure that we have [a wide] enough variety of products to meet the market demand,” an executive for Dell, who declined to be named, is reported to have said according to a news-story by ZDnet Asia.

“This is a sensitive topic, though we won’t deny the fact that we are working with Dell on desktop and notebook PCs,” K. J. Chou, general manager of the chipmaker’s Taiwan operation told the news reporters.

Earlier this year Dell said that it would use new AMD Opteron processors in its multiprocessor servers by the end of the year. Later on chief executive of Dell said that the collaboration between two companies would expand, though, he declined to say in which directions the partnership would spread out.
