There were also claims that these new drivers would boost performance in DirectX games also. The only game that had received optimizations was Call of Duty 2, where gains as large as 30% were said to be possible. While ATi did claim a possible performance increase of 18% in Quake 4, we saw only a 10% increase which was decent nonetheless. Prey was said to improve by 16%, though we only saw a 6% performance gain in this new gaming title.
