PAX was started by the creators of the Penny Arcade comic strip as a way to give back to the gaming community that supports them. Gabe and Tycho hold frequent events for charity in Seattle, and are well-known for their generous nature and respected businessmen in the area. This gaming convention has been such a big success that now it has spilled over into three hotels in addition to the huge convention center. This year is the best year ever: not because Microsoft and Nintendo have decided to join, not because of the huge gaming tournaments, but because OCModShop has graced the doors with their presence!
