AMDZone has posted their preview of Battlefield 2142 that also includes performance benchmarks for a number of video cards.

The Battlefield series has been one of the biggest mainstream hits since Counter-Strike for Half-Life since the release of the demo for Battlefield 1942. While the follow up, Battlefield: Vietnam, might not have been as highly regarded as 1942, the true sequel, Battlefield 2, has clearly been one of the most popular multiplayer shooters since it's release last year. EA is known to milk their franchises and the next game is almost here: Battlefield 2142. Set 200 years in the future from the original 1942, Battlefield 2142 begins at the start of a new Ice age caused by nuclear winter with only enough soil to feed a fraction of the Earth's population. Two superpowers have risen, the European Union force and the new Pan Asian coalition, as they battle for survival.
